Blue Tansy... A tiny little flower that has recently grown in popularity in the skincare world, and for good reason! Today, we're going to be looking into this botanical and breaking down the benefits of using this floral on your skin.
Blue Tansy Ultra Rich Moisturizer
Origins and Benefits:
Tanacetum annuum, or Blue Tansy, is native to Northern Africa and is primarily produced in Morocco. This floral is unique for several reasons, one being that its history is not well documented like other herbs and botanicals. However, history notes that this plant was used as an aid for skin and respiratory issues in traditional Moroccan medicine.
Fun fact: Blue Tansy is related to the Chamomile plant, sharing some characteristics. It is also extremely fragrant, with notes of tart fruit, florals, and a hint of earthiness. It is personally one of my favorite smells due to how unique it is.
Blue Tansy has more recently become more popular, specifically in the skincare world. With a dark blue hue, just a small amount of this botanical can add stunning color to whatever it touches. Not only is the color beautiful, but the compound that makes it blue is also responsible for the anti-inflammatory compounds within the plant.
Like Moroccan and other cultures in the Mediterranean basin figured out, this plant boasts powerful soothing benefits. It is renowned for its ability to help irritated skin, soothe redness/rashes, calm eczema flares, etc. It is a skin-soothing powerhouse!
This super botanical is also very reparative for the skin, making it ideal for those with sensitive skin types.
